Rufous Necked Hornbill

Rufous Necked Hornbill is very commonly seen in northeastern part of Indian Subcontinent &  some of the southeast asian countries .Their  Numbers have declined significantly due to habitat loss and hunting, and it has been entirely extirpated from Nepal.
This large hornbill qualifies as Vulnerable because it has a small, rapidly declining population as a result of destruction of evergreen forest and hunting.

Development of the bill and casque indicates the age and sex of individuals. Rufous-necked Hornbill's bill is yellow with black and white barcode-like stripes, where the number of stripes indicates its age.
